I think this should be merged with Jatha because 1) it is the correct term 2) "gangs" has a negative and criminal connotation that jatha doesn't 3) I believe Jatha is used in more wikipedia articles
However, although we should keep a lot of this information it's important to eliminate some of the history which is already covered in say misl
Since the merge is uncontested, I have gone ahead and done it. It seems like I've done it backwards, but this is the stronger article anyway so we can just rename it. — Ƶ§œš¹[ãːɱ ˈfɹ̠ˤʷɪ̃ə̃nlɪ] 00:26, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Comment if you did the merge the other way, you wouldn't have this problem, as it is, we now have the problem of contribution history existing from the merge at the target -- 76.65.128.252 (talk) 02:14, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Comment actually... was anything merged, or was it just redirected? -- 76.65.128.252 (talk) 02:17, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This article has a much richer edit history, which is something we want to keep. The other article didn't have any content that's not here (except that it comes from the Sanskrit word yūtha) so the merge was basically turning the other article into a redirect. — Ƶ§œš¹[ãːɱ ˈfɹ̠ˤʷɪ̃ə̃nlɪ] 02:26, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Support This was probably the correct course of action. Since the previous article at Jatha had nothing to actually be merged in, merging the other way around would have been messy. At any rate, that title is more concise and neutral. --BDD (talk) 22:31, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
