Last homer of the 90s, not Twentieth Century.[edit]
Again and again... the twentieth century ended on 12/31/2000, not 12/31/1999. Derek Jeter hit the last home run of the twentieth century a year later. 18.173.1.4222:18, 8 December 2006 (UTC) It can also be argued that since decades begin with 1 and end with 0, a homerun hit in 1999 wasn't the last homerun of the 90's. 2000 was the last year of the 90's.[reply]
The content discussing a ticket for using a cell phone while driving and his license being potentially suspended at the time of his DWI seems incredibly trivial. It wasn't, so I don't understand why it would be included in the article.

As a representative of Jim Leyritz, from Attache, I must note that Jim's portrayal is certainly cast in a negative light. I understand and respect the concept of neutral point of view, as per Wikipedia's code of conduct, but feel that this is not being truly implemented in Jim's current Wikipedia.
While it is clear I have a bias in this particular situation, I would like to work in collaboration with other editors to redraft a fair depiction of Jim Leyritz, both as a professional athlete and a person.
His public trials and legal issues have been unfairly retold, and more positive aspects of involvement, such as his work with charity or loving family life, have been overlooked entirely.
As am I'm sure we all can agree, we must work to uphold the intent of Wikipedia - to provide unbiased, factual information to all users.

Everybody wants articles here to be accurate and fair. I see that your previous edits were reverted, which I believe was warranted. My recommendation would be to ensure that future edits are verifiable and due weight is applied to facts. Statements such as Leyritz being a "highly regarded motivational speaker for non-profit, youth and business organizations" need to be cited, and proportional to the amount of coverage those aspects of his life are discussed in reliable sources.—Bagumba (talk) 16:40, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Also, while we're on the subject of improving this article, a picture would greatly help. Flickr doesn't have any images of him that we can use. Unfortunately, those pictures are listed as "All rights reserved", and Wikipedia would need a free image. If Mr Leyritz is willing, you can go into Flickr and change the permissions for selected photos to a free license.—Bagumba (talk) 20:33, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think that only applies if it is from a website that doesn't list explicit permissions, or I scanned it from a book or something I don't own. In the case of Flickr, it can just be changed in the user account.—Bagumba (talk) 20:58, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, basically if Mr. Leyritz doesn't want that image to be released completely freely, he can instead use OTRS to confirm his identity and give specific permission for it to be used by Wikipedia under CC-BY-SA and GDFL.
