John Quincy Adams II was the Vice-Presidential nominee of the Straight-Out Democratic Party in 1872, not Charles Francis Adams. Source: New York Times October 3, 1872 page 5.
According to the John Adams biography by David McCullough, Thomas Boylston Adams (brother of President John Quincy Adams) had a son who was named John Quincy Adams II. Therefore, this JQA is actually John Quincy Adams III. XXSNUGGUMSXX (talk) 21:01, 8 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
