User:67.52.255.126 added that Gomes "kiiled his best friend in a car accident", so I researched it. As it turned out, when he was 16, he and his best friend were BOTH in the backseat of a car driven by two girls (presumably their girlfriends, I guess) that slammed into a telephone pole. Judging from the lack of source, and the guy's contribution history, I think it vandalism via distortion of facts.
They had a big piece today on Jonny Gomes at MLB.com, and I also found a Newsday article from a week ago, that also detailed his heart attack. That's where the stuff I added today largely comes from. --Kitch 22:58, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the ridiculous "The Enforcer" tag from his name. He's a baseball player, not a pro wrestler. I also updated his current situation with the Rays and Bulls. --Hendrixx13 16:50, 7 August 2008.
It keeps getting added, then deleted, guess it's time for some consensus. Is there any sourcing for The Enforcer being his nickname. Running a quick google search I saw this article, a blog and youtube reference (Not reliable sources), and a newspaper article that said Gomes was an enforcer, but didn't say he was known as The Enforcer. Unless it can be shown that this is a real nickname, and not something he was called once, it should go in my opinion.--Cube lurker (talk) 14:04, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
He is known as the teams enforcer, if a baseball team can have such a thing, but he is not called "The Enforcer". Whichever pro wrestling fan keeps adding it should cop themselves on and stop being so ridiculous. --Hendrixx13 19:39, 21 August 2008
