Arrest[edit]

Holy crap. Apparently, he's been arrested. [1] I'll wait for more sources to confirm. ComputerJA (talk) 03:04, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Mexican Navy caught him in Tampico, Tamaulipas [cnn.com http://www.cnn.com/2012/09/13/world/americas/mexico-cartel-arrest/index.html]. -AMAPO (talk) 22:12, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, feel free to update/copyedit the info. ComputerJA (talk) 22:26, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
COOL! Funny how the fat-fish are being cought at the end of the sexenio.... BatteryIncluded (talk) 23:20, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yep :p judging by EPN strategy, I don't see many of them falling in the next six years. ComputerJA (talk) 01:18, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Aftermath: Juárez Cartel on the rise?[edit]

There's an article that says that if Los Zetas take over the assets of the Gulf Cartel, the Juárez Cartel may rise up again. [2] I don't really understand the logic behind it, so maybe you can aid me. The JC is almost non-existent, and I don't see El Chapo losing grip of the city. Does the author mean that if the Sinaloa Cartel starts fighting in Tamaulipas they might get distracted in the Juárez plaza and help the Juárez Cartel to come back? I'm confused. ComputerJA (talk)

In my opinion I doubt that will happen, everytime they capture cartel leaders another others pop up. People in CDG region like them since CDG aren't as violent as other cartels nor extort small businesses in places where CDG have control like Matamoros, Tampico ect... -AMAPO (talk) 03:32, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Alleged relationship with the Navy[edit]

A friend told me to download an article from Proceso which talks about the alleged relationship Costilla Sánchez had with the Navy. The whole story is about 6 pages long, but this excerpt gives a summary of the events. I already read the whole document, so I'll dedicate a section in this page in the next few hours. If anyone is interested, here's the link where you can download the document. [3] [Proceso No. 1872 Cayó en Desgracia] ComputerJA (talk) 00:02, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Entry needs to be more cohesive[edit]

The first part of this biography is basically okay but the second half with the "background" and "in-fighting" repeats a lot of the same information that appears in the first half and is better suited to be placed in other Wikipedia articles on related subjects. This section should either be entirely deleted or "woven" into the first half that discusses Costilla Sánchez' career.

It's already been established that there was deadly in-fighting between and among group members, it doesn't have to be stated twice. If there are important details that need to be mentioned, place them within the first half of the article. Remember, this is a biography of Costilla Sánchez, it's not a general article on drug trafficking in Mexico or the Gulf Cartel. Keep the focus on the individual and just provide other details to place his life into context. Crimes that committed by other cartels and other individuals should be mentioned on their pages, not here. 69.125.134.86 (talk) 13:16, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
