Explanation for removal of list of on-air personalities

[edit]

WP:WPRS says it best:

You may add properly sourced, encyclopedic content describing a station's programming, but a simple list of a station's on-air staff should not be added. To a reader who isn't already familiar with the station, a plain airstaff list doesn't do anything to help them understand or get a feel for the topic. Describing a station's programming (see CFNY-FM, for example) gives the reader a much better sense of the station, its personalities and its on-air style than a meaningless list of people they've never heard of.

Many people beg to differ. Lists of past DJ's/personalities anywhere are never meaningless. Their former listeners, friends & family have a right to know what their parents, grandparents, friends etc. have accomplished on the air. Here, you quote a WPRS link over a decade old which is meaningless. It should be any station's right to have & view a list of former and current on-air personalities & anyone's right to post it. KMAC/KISS has been a legend for rock since the 1970's as have many of their DJ's. If anyone had the benefit of working there at any point, they deserve to be mentioned.

Under the "Early Years" section, there should be a correction: It was KMAC not "KMAK". Please get your facts straight.

Past KMAC/KISS D.J.s/hosts

(Accurate but not a complete list - There may be some misspellings. STOP REMOVING THESE ACCURATE DJ LISTINGS)

•Joe "the Godfather" Anthony •Louis J. Roney (Lou Roney) •Tom "T-Bone" Scheppke •Debbie "The Electric Lady" Alcocer •John Lisle •Steve Hahn •Kelley Kendall •Brian Kendall •John Dodge •Jave "The Wave" Patterson •Jason Lee Tipton "The Tiptonizer" •Chuck Stanley •Joshua Enriquez •Wes Burleson •King Castleberry •Perry Kalison •Matt Kelley •Frank Young •Quinn •Gary Davenport •Tempie Lindsay •David Aguilar •Leif "Loose Leif" Calberg •Juan Felan •Nancy Gray •CJ Cruz •Sandy Castle •Jabreel Khalid •Mike Shaw •Mark Champion •Greg Shawver •Alfie •Tripp Reeb •Greg "The Fitz" Fitzgerald •Donnie Meals •Bobby Reyes •Teamo Therapy •Dawn Bridgewater •Art Garza •Ron James •Kevin Vargas •LA Lloyd •Tracy Barnes •Mike Anthony "McBeasty"

The link to the first reference is dead. C. Lupton (talk) 19:40, 14 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
