Kodansha Comics USA → Kodansha USAorKodansha Comics – While working on Inuyashiki, I changed the text of to reflect what was stated in the given source and created a redirect from Kodansha Comics. However, after checking both the publisher's website[1] and other related news articles about the publisher, I see that "Kodansha Comics USA" is neither the official name nor the common name. The official name is simply "Kodansha Comics", which is an imprint of "Kodansha USA Publishing". News articles from Anime News Network and CrunchyRoll uses Kodansha Comics and Kodansha USA interchangeably. I even checked the copyright page of Shugo Chara vol 10, an early Kodansha USA publication, which states "Published in United States by Kodansha Comics, an imprint of Kodansha USA Publishing, LLC, New York". Per WP:COMMONNAME, this article should be moved to one of the two official names because "Kodansha Comics USA" is not used by either the company itself nor by any of the third-party sources that covers the company's publications and licensing announcements. —Farix (t | c) 13:06, 12 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Support Kodansha Comics. The website and the print as shown on the manga indicates this first. However, Kodansha USA Publishing and Kodansha Advanced Media should redirect to this page, as shown in the About section, and the article can explain the structuring and naming. [2] In citations, you can then use "work=Kodansha Comics | publisher=Kodansha Advanced Media" or "work=Kodansha Comics | publisher=Kodansha USA" AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 15:24, 17 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The reason I chose Kodansha USA as the primary target is because it is the name of the subsidiary while Kodansha Comics is Kodansha USA's imprint. While currently, everything Kodansha USA publishes is through the Kodansha Comics imprint, there is the possibility that Kodansha USA will publish other types of works, such as light novels, which will use a different imprint. —Farix (t | c) 13:52, 12 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Per The Kodansha Comics about page [3] "Kodansha Comics is the English-language manga-publishing imprint of Kodansha USA Publishing". Kodansha USA being the publisher for Kodansha's "normal" books [4]. So it's not true that everything Kodansha USA publishes is through the imprint. They both operate in the same building too. So Kodansha USA would have to reflect the business as a whole, although that could cause issues with the publisher field.SephyTheThird (talk) 19:48, 12 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I propose that Vertical (publisher) should be merged into Kodansha USA, preferably under a new section or under the Kodansha Comics section. Since 2020, Vertical has been integrated and consolidated into Kodansha USA Publishing, and therefore is part of Kodansha USA itself. Additionally, the content on Vertical (publisher) regarding the company itself is extremely brief and would be simple to integrate into this page. tenshibeat (talk|contribs) 06:21, 18 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose: I'm opposed to merging the articles too. The citation here confirms that Vertical has not always been owned by Kodansha. That Vertical was once independent.[1]SimonLagann (talk) 10:44, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
