This article is about the municipality of L'Isle-aux-Allumettes, not the island itself. Morrison Island, which I think you are referring to, is mentioned in the opening paragraph. --Padraic23:55, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Coordinates were taken from Commission de toponymie du Québec, which appear to be just north off the island. It is now adjusted to the centre of the island. -- P 1 9 9✉21:05, 13 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"Allumettes" means "matches" (the kind for lighting fires with). Why do the rapids (and the island and municipality) have this name?
