"His song, "Something Inside So Strong" (which failed to be selected as the UK entry for the Eurovision Song Contest) has since become popular, and is used in a television advertisement."
Don't know if I've gone about it the right way, but since "Something Inside" wasn't his Song For Europe entry, I've amended the article accordingly.
Funny, Because According to this CD I have, the song is called "Something Inside So Strong" --Skully Collins 16:50, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Can someone put up a picture?
With no references at all, this article doesn't stand a chance of passing. Sorry. --andreasegde 15:06, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm new and I've never posted before. Having researched 'something inside so strong', I was under the impression it was written as a gay anthem/gay rights song, but was hi-jacked as an anti-apartheid anthem because the real subject matter wasn't ready to be confronted - namely prejudice agianst homosexuals. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.110.160.73 (talk) 00:36, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How on earth is an Amazon review of an album (see notes) appropriate as part of a credible entry? 81.154.183.149 (talk) 17:13, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I understand the need for citations, particularly in the case of biographical articles, but the butchering job that has been done here makes the article almost useless. Facts which could have been easily verified (and were not controversial) have been removed, apparently for the sake of ticking citation boxes. That does not make for a good article or encyclopaedia. We have finished up with what is effectively a list of Siffre's albums, accompanied by a list of people who have covered some of his songs. Nothing about his life, nothing about his identification with the gay movement, nothing of his identification with the anti-apartheid movement. The whole article needs a complete rewrite. A very, very poor state of affairs! Skinsmoke (talk) 00:59, 22 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
"has performed many cover versions of songs" This is incorrect. Labi Siffre has performed (and recorded) very very few cover versions of songs. On tour in 1970 and 1971 Labi included the Harry Nilsson song "Maybe" which he, Labi, recorded on his first album "Labi Siffre" (1970). Since the early 70's, in a performance career lasting until 1999, he has almost never, if ever, performed any song that he has not written. If you wish verification of this, Labi is easily accessible as a source. Why not ask him? In the meantime, only someone who has been to Siffre's gigs regularly in his long career, as I have, could be a suitable source of info on this matter. Incidentally Labi is resuming his performing career on November 8th at the Leicester Square Theatre in London. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ontologyman (talk • contribs) 00:33, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There is a 'citation needed' in 'Career'. I suggest a link to [1] would show the assertion to be correct. Maybe someone who knows how could add the necessary reference..? Julesomega (talk) 23:54, 22 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Is it really necessary to have the words "musician" and "poet" in wikilinks at the start of the article? The word "singer" is not in wikilinks. Vorbee (talk) 19:25, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
