tense/citations needed

[edit]

Why is the first paragraph in the future tense? E.g. why does it state that his works "will be" popular? Are they not popular now? How do we know they'll be popular in the future?

Why is there a citation needed regarding his fame? It seems as if the long list of pop culture references proves his fame well enough. Isn't there a rule that if something appears in 10 or more references it can be considered common knowledge? --Dllahr 13:52, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A troll has requested a citation for Maltin's fame? Would a link to http://www.leonardmaltin.com/about.htm suffice?

Inspiration for The Critic?

[edit]

Just wondering if a reference to The Critic should be added under "Popular Culture Appearances". His famously short review of Transylvania 6-5000 seems like an obvious inspiration for Jay Sherman's frequent catch-phrase "It stinks!" Lurlock (talk) 17:22, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No more TV movies?

[edit]

Did Maltin or his team ever explain why they dropped TV movies from the guide? A lot of important films disappeared as a result, like Steven Spielberg's first film "Duel", for starters. --RThompson82 (talk) 07:00, 8 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Leonard maltin .... global humiliation & status as a hack and a fraud should be mentioned.

[edit]

The main artical leaves out ( totaly that Leonard Maltin has been exposed as a hack and a fraud, over the controversy around Felix the cat. Leonard Maltin was exposed for his role in plagiarism & theft' & manufacturing evidence / story's along with the discredited John Cainmaker. Leonard Maltin has been tarnished & his career lays in tatters over his & cainmakers falsified evidence & lies over his claims that Felix the cat was created by Otto Mesmer in 1919. & not By Pat Sullivan in 1917.

Leonard Maltin has failed to explain his role in the falsified & unsupported claims of Himself ( Leonard Maltin ) Otto messmer & John Cainmaker. & until Maltin comes clean he will remain a international joke & an outcast & leper in world of film Historians.

His role in the whole otto messmer / Pat Sullivan / Felix the cat issue & his help in falsifying the historical facts that Pat Sulivan created felix the cat long before otto messmer had even returned from fighting ww1 in Europe has resulted in Leonard Maltins entire life work now being revived & called into question by Film historians the world over.

Maltin's entire life work hangs in the balance .... His credibility& impartiality is in Question.

& i think it is most imported / relevant that the main article mention / reflect this controversy in order to reflect the facts & to maintain a degree of credibility. Otherwise wikipedia just becomes a Propaganda site filled with lies & hearsay. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.245.40.174 (talk) 13:49, 22 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
