Accuracy[edit]

The following paragraph does not represent accurately the Catholic teaching on intercession for the dead (see Catechism of the Catholic Church para. 958 "Our prayer for them [the dead] is capable not only of helping them, but also of making their intercession for us effective"). If there are no objections, it will be deleated.

"Libera Me, like many other prayers from the Office for the Dead, asks that the person prayed for may be saved from hell. However, the question of whether or not the person was sent to hell was settled irrevocably as soon as he or she died at the particular judgment. This dramatic displacement and rearrangement of the objective order of events is employed because liturgical texts cannot express everything at one instant. Instead, the text is written as if simultaneous events followed each other in order.[1] Likewise, while Libera Me asks God to have mercy at the Last Judgement, the fate of a person at the Last Judgement has already been determined at the particular judgment immediately at death. At the Last Judgement, all souls in heaven remain in heaven; all souls in purgatory go to heaven, and all souls in limbo and hell will remain there eternally."

Christ's Hospital[edit]

Someone (or some people, or some sockpuppets) keep making claims about "Christ's Hospital". This is non-notable, both as use and as categorisation. The article is about a liturgical setting used worldwide in hundreds of countries by thousands of churches and schools. "Christ's Hospital" is just one amongst all those thousands. This article is not about creating a list of these thousands. Please do not re-add it. If you feel that C.H. is really notable, far above the other thousands of churches and schools that use it, please explain on this talk page before re-adding. Thank you in advance. Should follow WP:CAPS, but RM will be required as redirect exists. (talk) 04:29, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. Explanation: the article ought to be titled Libera me, but moving it there requires an administrator – WP:RM. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 08:08, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
