Baixa?[edit]

Isn't this part of town called just "Baixa" normally? None of my maps of Lisbon include the "pombalina" part. Zocky | picture popups 16:54, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, as far as I known, the area is normally called simply Baixa. Nevertheless, "Baixa" is also the name of the Lower town in other Portuguese-speaking cities, like Coimbra, Oporto and Salvador de Bahia (Brazil). "Baixa Pombalina" refers exclusively to the rebuilt Lisbon Baixa under the Marquis de Pombal. Fsouza 13:30, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I guess the article should mention the fact that it's useually called simply Baixa? Zocky | picture popups 04:43, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, done Fsouza 13:19, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

External Link[edit]

Hello Editors! I hope you find it relevant with a link pointing to a traveller's version of Baixa Pombalina - to complement your own more factual article - so I took the liberty of inserting an external link to "Blueprint of Lisbon". Keep it if you like. There are no commercial interests behind my initiative. Scribbleman (talk) 11:57, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

External links policyonAdvertising and conflicts of interest states You should avoid linking to a website that you own, maintain or represent, and in this case, you are Terje Raa . Unfortunately your conflict of interest editing involves contributing to Wikipedia in order to promote yourself and your articles. Such a conflict is strongly discouraged. Your contributions to wikipedia under Scribbleman consist entirely of promoting Terje Raa / bootsnall.com / travellady.com and is considered WP:Spam. Looking through your contributions as a whole, the all seem to be Terje Raa/bootsnall.com/travellady.com related only. Please do not continue adding links to your own websites to Wikipedia. It has become apparent that your account are only being used for spamming inappropriate external links and for self-promotion. Wikipedia is NOT a "repository of links" or a "vehicle for advertising" and persistent spammers will have their websites blacklisted. Any further spamming may result in your account and/or your IP address being blocked from editing Wikipedia. Avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines. You're here to improve Wikipedia -- not just to promote yourself, right? --Hu12 13:22, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
