iMac G3

[edit]

I think the iMac G3 is wrong. At one point it was possible to buy the iMac G3, iMac G4 and eMac (see this August 2002 grab of the Apple store). --Blizzard777 (talk) 19:08, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Over 300 models - where to add?

[edit]

This link from The Register says there are over 300 models. I think an approximate model count (e.g. "over 300 models") should be added but I'm not sure how to do it with a reference in the presence of "onlyinclude" tags. Can someone who knows what they are doing help out here? davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 02:54, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

iPad?

[edit]

Should this be added? --93.96.179.55 (talk) 10:52, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not really, the iPad isn't a Mac. It does appear in the Timeline of Apple Inc. products. Stuart (talk) 09:31, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
iPad doesn't officially run Mac OS or Mac OS X, so no. --Wernjump (talk) 03:57, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The new MacBook Pros (2011)

[edit]

The new MacBook Pros appear to be missing from the timeline. --Wernjump (talk) 03:56, 3 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Separate some listings?

[edit]

Hi all,

I have a few suggestions for this chart based on the listing of previous models on the chart.

The MacBook Pro 15" (Unibody) was sold until October 2013, which is more than a year after the first Retina was introduced. The 13" was sold until October 2016, which was 3 years after the first 13" Retina was introduced. There are however only shown to be on sale until the introduction of newer models. Based on the chart with some previous models where the outgoing model was sold alongside the incoming model I think this example should be followed here.

Another thing is the newer all-Thunderbolt MacBook Pros are listed on the same line as the older Retina models. This is also different from how other models are shown (for example, each G3 PowerBook was listed separately, and then we had the Titanium G4, and Aluminium G4 all listed separately), especially since both styles were at some point sold concurrently as different models (for example, the 2015 Retina 15" was sold until July 2018). Also, the 13" 2 Thunderbolt models I feel should be separated from the 4 Thunderbolt models. We don't have a 16" model listed either.

We also do not have a separate listing for the MacBook Air Retina, or the overlap between it and the older non-retina model. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Off we go (talkcontribs) 20:02, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decade tables

[edit]

I merged the year tables into decade tables, as suggested in the FL removal discussion from 2009. I think it is better this way, that there are fewer subsections to navigate between, and more information is readable at once.

Previously, the images floated to the right and cleared the wikitables, so that each image had an ocean of empty space next to it. I changed this to create a gallery of images at the top of each decade table. This saves a lot of space. However, it would be nice if we could have each image next to the relevant part of the table, perhaps falling back to a gallery layout on mobile.

Side note: The row colors should probably be changed to contrast with the text more, while also contrasting with each other.
