I would like to add WebLog Expert to the Self-hosted proprietary list of applications. Per the requirement of "Every entry in this list must have an article written and reliable sources to support inclusion, else it will be removed" I created pages for the product (WebLog Expert) and company (Alentum Software) but they were marked for Speedy Deletion and promptly deleted.
The reason why I want to include WebLog Expert in the list is because we have been using WebLog Expert for nearly 20 years on my current project. We use WebLog Expert to provide reporting across 50+ different sites that run under our domain. These sites are currently receiving 1B hits and 100M page views per month. WebLog Expert has been a reliable web analytics software application for us that provides a wealth of information. It seems a shame for it to not be on this list.
This is a list of software with established notability - it is not meant to be an indiscriminate list of every software out there. This isn't a judgment on the reliability or the value of software that isn't included. Wikipedia is here to be an encyclopedia, not a link directory, so if there is no encyclopedic content to index there isn't anything for us to list here. The article lacks many notable and widely used analytics tools such as:
- Microsoft Clarity
- Cloudflare
- PostHog
- Plausible Analytics
- Highlight.io
- Panbelbear
- Pirsch.io
- Open Replay
- Splitbee
- Usermaven
I tried to add them, but it was undone without explanation.
PS. I'm one of the creators of Yandex Metrica, which is the 2nd largest web analytics tool in the world. I'm also the creator of ClickHouse, which is the DBMS used by most web analytics tools. Alexey Milovidov (talk) 19:02, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
