Am I the only one that has a problem with the construction of this term? Transparency is the ability to see inside a system, but the property called "location transparency" is the opposite of transparency. It is far more opaque than transparent; the physical location is hidden or obscured, by virtualization or abstraction. Any one of the following terms seems much more suitable: location abstraction, location virtualization, location hiding, location aliasing, location agnostic.
Of course, I can't use logic to alter how a term is already used, but if anyone knows how this term came about, this glaring contradiction needs to be addressed in the article.

As I understood is location transparency is a little bit more than the article says. Services and resources that can be found, instead of hardwired are location transparent. Or not? In that sense is Jini location transparent? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.183.100.100 (talk) 19:44, 3 December 2007
