[edit]

I believe that this entry needs a section on its stellar reputation as a concert venue. I do see that previous changes I made were reverted. I have since put back the info on the Grateful Dead live album, Dozin' at the Knick, that was recorded at the arena. Milchama 13:33, 15 January 2006

Comments

[edit]

An external link to www.timesunion.com should be added. Also, should the "The" in "The Times Union" really be capitalized? Finally, the practice of internally linking years should be reformed. Some are linked and others are not.

No, but mentioning the impending name change and wikilinking to Albany Times-Union (where there is an external link) would be appopriate. ccwaters 17:31, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

When changing this article to Times Union Center, please check "What links here" (on article) to make sure links to the Times Union Center are accurate. Use redirects if necessary. The Albany, New York has been started on 12/30/06 in anticipation, but if this article is renamed or moved, please change the appropriate articles' links as well. Fwgoebel 00:13, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think I changed all of them. I didn't change the ones that refer to a specific event that occurred while the building was known as Pepsi Arena. Khatru2 06:40, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:TUCenterlogo.jpg

[edit]

Image:TUCenterlogo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:39, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject class rating

[edit]

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 08:21, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Plagiarism

[edit]

I removed the following plagiarized content, which was copied from here. Perhaps some of it can be turned into prose and incorporated into the article, with appropriate citations. --Albany NY (talk) 02:06, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • From 1990 to 1998, 7,044,947 patrons have walked through the turnstiles into The Center.
  • The Center has an average of 165 events a year since it fist opened in 1990.
  • The arenas unique curtaining system, that was installed in 1993 allows The Center capacity to change in minutes from 17,000 to 6,000.
  • There are 78 different doors leading into and out of The Center, and 19 public telephones.
  • The Center has 674 lighting units and 432 panes of glass of all different sizes in the front atrium.
  • 2,500 tons of structural steel and 30,000 cubic yards of pre-cast concrete were used to build The Center.
  • It takes 8,000 gallons of water to create a 3/4-inch-thick layer of ice used for the hockey playing surface.
  • The center hung scoreboard weighs 8-1/2 tons, which is equal to the size of three adult circus elephants.

This Page Needs a Major Cleaning

[edit]

I cleaned up the list of concerts for numerous reasons. First, we can't have a list of every single concert at the venue (even if a handful Wiki user claims it to be 'important'). If this were the case, the articles for other venues like MSG would be pages long. Secondly, most importantly, it's not important as to the overall aim of the article. 207.172.166.181 (talk) 03:24, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Should the Firebirds be taken out of the first paragraph where it says "Current tenants include?" They're not playing this season in the new Arena Football League, and in the column on the right hand side, they are not listed as a current team. Kjscotte34 (talk) 13:23, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New name doesn't take effect until 1/1/2022

[edit]

The name change was premature. The new sponsorship/naming rights agreement doesn't start until the new year. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.81.94.70 (talk) 12:15, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
