I have completely re-written the article in order to make it suited to Wikipedia's standards. However much work still needs to be done. More references and a map would be greatly appreciated.-Abdaal (talk) 09:27, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

– The river is a permanent feature. The movie can mentioned as hatnote, instead of a full diambiguation page. ChiragPatnaik (talk) 15:20, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
- Also, the "nadi" in Mahanadi means river in Hindi and several other Indian languages. So it seems a little incongrouous. ChiragPatnaik (talk) 06:38, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Support. In addition to the nominator's rationale, Google Book Search gives 20,700 hits for "Mahanadi River" and 182,000 for Mahanadi −film, indicating that the river is very often referred to without the redundancy. Per WP:TWODABS, the dab page should just be deleted and replaced with at hatnote. Favonian (talk) 12:56, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
