Cubic vs tetragonal[edit]

I've redone the infobox based on the sources. The observed samples are cubic. Synthetic material as pure MgSiO3 has been reported as tetragonal and that is retained in the article with the ref. There are tetragonal garnets (holtstamite and henritermierite), but the refs for majorite say cubic. Vsmith (talk) 19:26, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the natural samples containing a small amount of octhedral silicon are cubic, and only pure synthetic MgSiO3 majorites are tetragonal. But the mineral name refers to the end-member so it should be included in the info box. I can put the reference in there too if necessary. On the join between majorite and pyrope samples with more than ~15% pyrope are cubic. Jasperox (talk) 16:30, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
