Notability calls for individuals to have been the subject of reliable, third party sources. The first page worth of Google hits for Marjorie Cohn are her own website, and some cites, such as Huffington Post, where she has authored pieces. Additionally, the article itself offers no citations that establish notability, and I see nothing here that is covered in notability of creative people. I am adding the notability tag to this article. Bonewah (talk) 16:00, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The same can be said for the Google results of [Thomas Friedman]. This doesn't mean that Thomas Friedman shouldn't have a Wikipedia page. This isn't an argument in favor of keeping an article on Cohn - it's simply used to show that a person's first page of Google results can be a very poor factor in making the determination. Google results are highly manipulable and thus highly subjective. We should be looking at objective factors. For example, both Friedman and Cohn are widely published: Friedman is published in the New York Times on a semi-weekly basis; Cohn is frequently published by a variety of alternative news outlets. Both appear on mainstream TV "news" shows from time to time. BlackberryLaw (talk) 15:43, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok ill buy that google is not a great way to establish notability, after all, wp:notability says that someone else should have done a scholarly treatment of the subject. So all we need do here is find someone who has written a biography of her, or mentioned her in a more than passing way and notability is satisfied. Bonewah (talk) 15:58, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
