Comments[edit]

The article about Marlborough mentions Earnest Rutherford as having associations with Marlborough. I don't think this is true. He was associated with Nelson and Christchurch.

It's true that he was most associated with Nelson and Christchurch, but he also had links to Marlborough and Taranaki. It was while attending school in Havelock (in Marlborough) that he won the scholarship back to Nelson College. While he only lived in Havelock for a few years, it does seem notable that such a small town and school should have *two* internationally prominent scientists having been schooled there. Is "Cloudy Bay" really a wine sub-region of Marlborough?JonathanG

Sort of! There are quite a number of vineyards now on the coastal side of Blenheim. They do differ somewhat in terroir and climate (being closer to the sea). It's worth noting, however, that Cloudy Bay is not in the "Cloudy Bay" sub-region. (In the same way that Mt Riley is not literally vineyards planted on Mt Riley).--Limegreen 10:37, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, my bad. I was in a hurry this morning, and didn't realised I'd missed signing. PS- If you click on the history link at the top of the page, you'd have seen that that wasy my contribution. Cheers. --Limegreen 10:37, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I just added some wine info but since English is my second language, please feel free to fix my writing! Nikolai35 (talk) 01:46, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Forestry not mentioned in economy of Marlborough[edit]

I am curious as to why there is no mention of forestry as an important primary industry in Marlborough? Cheers! Jan Worrall (talk) 20:03, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Geography[edit]

The geography section places a large importance on the rivers of the region. While the rivers may be important it may make more sense to be more on topic with geography and mention other attributes of the region's geography CanadaCactus (talk) 23:35, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
