Comment[edit]

the piece in question is a BIO written by marty thau himself which I uploaded to wikipedia on his behalf. it is the same piece published on blogcritics because it is his legitimate bio. please do not delete it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bundo68 (talkcontribs)

why did you delete my piece on marty thau? you people are ridiculous! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bundo68 (talkcontribs)

Read the message where the article used to be. If you want an article, write one at Marty Thau/Temp using 3rd party sources that verify the notability of Mr. Thau. Please do your best to present the information from a neutral point of view as there appears to be a potential conflict of interest here. --OnoremDil 18:37, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Death[edit]

According to this - a pretty reliable source - Marty Thau has just died. I imagine more established pubs will cover it soon enough. Wwwhatsup (talk) 04:14, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This was just reported in a newspaper so I edited the article to reflect his passing. RIP. TomRitchford (talk) 17:56, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Time with Inherit[edit]

According to the article: "During the one year which Thau spent with Inherit, the company released two classic albums by Van Morrison, Astral Weeks and Moondance, Vintage Violence by ex-Velvet Underground member John Cale, the debut album by rock power-trio Glass Harp, an album by Cass Elliot—when she switched over to RCA Records from ABC Records—and a project by bittersweet story-teller, Biff Rose. All of the above-mentioned albums were produced for Inherit by Lewis Merenstein, one of Thau's partners. Thau left Inherit in 1972 to become head of A&R for Paramount Records"

Astral Weeks was recorded and released in 1968, most, or all, of the other albums came out in 1970. So it sounds like he spent over 3 years with the company. Lenbrazil (talk) 23:16, 24 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
