Merging proposal

[edit]

Why is this here? Can't anybody merge this with the Tlatelolco Massacre article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.146.48.34 (talk) 04:08, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"This" is here because it is a valid encyclopedia topic. Why should it be merged into a separate article about the massacre? Viriditas (talk) 04:21, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Because the massacre was a result of the "Mexico 68". The Spanish version merges these two into one: Mexican Student Movement of 1968. Not to mention that the article of the Tlatelolco Massacre has more data than this one about the movement itself. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.249.53.8 (talk) 19:31, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The title "Mexico 68"

[edit]

Where is the evidence that anyone in English calls this episode "Mexico 68"?
There is no evidence on the page or in the working links that anyone says『México 68』in Spanish either.
It sounds like a pop group, Brazil 66, Mexico 68, Bhutan 69.
Varlaam (talk) 20:50, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hippie Movement. Really?

[edit]

There was a huge Black Power movment in the USA at the time. Martin Luther King was killed that year. And this article references the "hippie" movement as the main influence for Mexican students?

A timeline woule be nice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.172.57.191 (talk) 22:56, 17 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not many references. Does not feel like a well written encylopedia article. Title odd.

[edit]

This does not seem like a well written and documented encyclopedia article. There aren't many citations and the sources for the few citations are used repeatedly. The title doesn't help people looking for student revolutions or student movements. Chuck Baggett (talk) 22:55, 2 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Mexico 68. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

Rename

[edit]

If this isn't merged per the suggestions above, I think "Mexican Student Movement of 1968" should be the main article, and Mexico 68 turned into a redirect. The former seems to match the Spanish article name much more closely. - GretLomborg (talk) 20:02, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have the same opinion for the article. The social process was more about a social movement, in fact, not only with students as protagonists. Best, ProtoplasmaKid (talk) 19:35, 14 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
