changed Known for there snobbish, affluent attitudes toward others, this rich, well to do suburb is home to the well known Lake Minnetonka and its multi-million dollar lavished homes. less pov. Alf 5 July 2005 18:53 (UTC)

reworded negative statement into positive statement. Alf 6 July 2005 18:14 (UTC)
I'm sorry, maybe I'm stupid, the original entry, had no references to sex at all, I put it in to define Minnetonkite (singular) as applying to both sexes. Why has it appeared again - I get no clarity from the addition.Alf 6 July 2005 22:55 (UTC)
Lake Minnetonka is considered a seperate community from the rest of minnetonka. Also, don't stereotype. While there are rich areas, most sections are just middle class neighborhoods.

advertisment in text

[edit]

"Minnetonka is the home of Kuempel Chime Clock Works and Studio, makers of fine Grandfather clocks since 1916." -Should be deleted since it is just an advertisment shouldnt it?.

I agree, it should be deleted. I noticed that a few weeks ago and thought i posted something on the talk page. Guess i didnt, i will delete the advertisement. THanks.--Gephart 08:41, 4 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Northern Pines refrence?

[edit]

I have no idea it seems almost like another advertisment and not needed. . .

Education

[edit]

as a Minnetonka resident from the 1970s until the late 80s, and my folks until last year. I cannot begin to explain how confusing it is. We lived in two different school districts, neither of which was the Minnetonka School district. My mailing address, has been Hopkins, Minnetonka, and Wayzata.

That said, I felt the schools in Minnetonka table (Minnetonka school district) was an incomplete picture of the public schools within the city of Minnetonka.

I am unsure if the present two table is more confusing. or they should some how be combined with some clarification as to which independent school district to which they belong.

I'll leave that to other stake holders. --K3vin (talk) 23:13, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The "Education" section needs more pruning. I edited the first paragraph of "Public Schools" to make it more concise and geographically accurate, but only a map can clearly show the boundaries of the district to someone who's not familiar with the city.

Paragraph two of "Public Schools" (micro-article on the Minnetonka School District) should be deleted. There are no corresponding entries for the Hopkins and Wayzata districts, and adding them would needlessly bloat the article.

The public school tables include those outside the Minnetonka city limits. This is not an article about any particular school district!

The section on private schools completely confuses the City of Minnetonka with the Minnetonka School District. St. Therese School is in Deephaven, and St. John's is in Excelsior. They're fine parochial schools within the school district, but they have no place in this article. 75.72.44.227 (talk) 17:35, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Little House In The Prairie?

[edit]

Minnetonka is referred to many times in Little House In The Prairie (television show). Is Minnetonka, MN, the same city? Macetw (talk) 11:25, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese names

[edit]

The Epoch Times seems to give two Chinese names:
