The source of the article Misawa AB and this page. As I said, it's possible that they come from a common US Government source. If this page is original, then quoting it may be a copyright violation, but if it's from a US Government source, in the public domain, then it (or the US Government source) is quotable. The following discussion is an archived debate. Please do not modify it.
A merger proposal has been added to these articles. I'd favor separate articles. The article on the base presents it as a sizable American enclave, and enclaves are different from the surrounding community. The article discusses aviation, and also the American community. On the other hand, the airport, while sharing facilities with the base, serves the Japanese community (and incidentally the Americans too). It's an integral part of the surrounding community. So I'd favor a separate article for it. Fg2 (talk) 12:05, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose merge. As someone who used to be stationed at Misawa, it needs two articles. The fact that the airport shares facilities (and a main road intersects with the airport's taxiway) is an interesting anecdote regarding the base that should be included in the Misawa article, but that is not sufficient to warrant merging both into one. Moreover, most airports usually get their own article. Aomori Airport has its own article, and no one has suggested merging it with Aomori (city).Dcmacnut (talk) 00:28, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There's a former featured image, and other good stuff in the history (from a couple of years ago) that's been removed and could be put back in. Widefox; talk10:32, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Listed in the NSA documents. Why? What’s going on there?
This article needs some information as to what’s going on at Misawa Air Base specifically. (It may be obvious to some, but it needs to be written down.)
