[Question][edit]

Can anyone tell me why Apollo 11's mission patch didn't contain the names of astronauts? Theresavalek (talk) 10:56, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The designers didn't want the Moon landing to be centered on three people, rather a world-wide view. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Parmadil (talkcontribs) 19:18, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The text describes the first patch Gemini 5, has having a slogan on it. The picture of the same patch shows no slogan. Is the text wrong, or is the picture of a reproduction/alternative patch? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 214.3.138.230 (talk) 14:12, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Classified mission patches?[edit]

The NRO [see article - National Reconnaissance Office, one of the big-five USA intelligence agencies] has several mission patches, some for classified missions... How do such mission patches work? Who wears them (as it's all unmanned satellites)? Is there equivalent Navy or Air Force mission patches (and if yes, are there further USMC/Army/... patches)? I don't get how it fits in a wider "culture"... It made me think of boyscout badges. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.37.142.72 (talk) 07:37, 22 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
