Doesn't that info belong as a section in another Morocco related article? Zouavman Le Zouave 16:53, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting that Morocco wanted to join the EU[edit]

...and is the only African state which is not a member of the African Union. Perhaps there is a link?--h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 06:24, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The reason that Morocco is not a member of the AU is because the organization admitted the SADR as a full member.

The AU covers the entire continent except for Morocco, which opposes the membership of Western Sahara as the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic. However, Morocco has a special status within the AU and benefits from the services available to all AU states from the institutions of the AU...(from article AU)

But the former king, Hassan II, did say Morocco was a tree with it's roots in Africa and it's branches in Europe. 81.243.50.114 (talk) 12:24, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Euro payments before 2001[edit]

The article currently has several statements such as Under the four financial protocols of the 1976 Cooperation Agreement signed between the European Community (predecessor of the EU) and Morocco, Morocco received a total of €1091 million. The euro as a currency was only created in 2001. It's logically impossible for a transaction occurring in 1976 to have been denominated in euro. Hairy Dude (talk) 12:23, 4 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
