Can someone add an etymology of the marvellous name "Mytholmroyd"? Surely spending his earliest years in such a mythopoetic placename must have had an effect on Ted Hughes' leaning towards poetry? Smalljim 12:28, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The person (offcumden pedant) who put the population below 4000 has some explaining to do. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.18.83.213 (talk) 06:35, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The population figure in the infobox is as per the 2001 census and and change should be to verifiable information the source of which is quoted, not to some unsourced guesstimate. Keith D (talk) 11:36, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Town or village?

[edit]

I see that www.mytholmroyd.net describes itself as "News, photographs, and a discussion board for the village of Mytholmroyd." Mavitinevans123 (talk) 14:08, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It's a town. The term 'village' is something that crept in when people started moving into the area during the 1970's and 80's.

  1. Requires inline references adding using one of the {{Cite}} templates
  2. Sentence on population appears to not fit in with preceeding paragraph needs restructuring a little
