Aug. 29 feast of Beheading is also in western Christianity[edit]

Under the "eastern Christianity" heading, I see a list of other John-the-Baptist feasts, including this:

>August 29 - The Beheading of St. John the Forerunner

There is a Catholic feast (at least in the 1962 Roman missal) of the Beheading on that day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.63.16.20 (talk) 20:49, 24 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

John the Baptist was actually born on Thursday November 12, 7 BC / 12.11.747 AUC / 20 Heshvan 3755 HC[edit]

I added... John the Baptist was actually born on Thursday November 12, 7 BC / 12.11.747 AUC / 20 Heshvan 3755 HC.[1] This was marked by planetary alignment and aligned to Matthew 11:12. John was born six months before Jesus' actual birthday of Saturday April 17, 6 BC / 17.4.748 AUC / 29 Nisan 3755 HC.<ref]Astronomer http://MichaelMolnar.com </ref] 69.180.104.60 (talk) 11:37, 12 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Removed[edit]

The claim is dubious, the cited source doesn't look reliable, and the user has been banned for sockpuppetry. I feel reasonably certain that the claim wouldn't stand up to inquiry. Feel free to add it back in if I'm wrong. Sonata Green (talk) 23:20, 7 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

How-come no one observes it on about the 5th or 6th of July?[edit]

That's what I'd expect from those who have Jesus Birth on the 6th of January?--JaredMithrandir (talk) 21:12, 21 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, actually you are right,
Western: June 24 - December 25
Eastern would be: July 7 - January 7
Many Orthodox Christians do celebrate John the baptist on 6/7 of July, they call it Kupala Night. ऋतम् (talk) 20:53, 4 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Remove June 23 from article[edit]

June 23 only applies to Roman Catholics. This feast is also celebrated by Anglicans, Lutherans, Methodists, etc. Remove this mention from the infobox. The Roman Catholic date can be mentioned at the first paragraph instead. Ericglm.4 (talk) 07:11, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
