There seems to be a contradiction between these two phrases:
"Neurospora crassa is a type of red bread mold of the phylum Ascomycota.
. . .
In its natural environment, N. crassa lives mainly in tropical and sub-tropical regions. It can be found growing on dead plant matter after fires."
If you mean between growing on bread and growing on dead plant material, not necessarily. I imagine Neurospora *must* use other nutrient sources than bread, since baking bread is only six thousand or so years old... --♦♦♦Vlmastra♦♦♦ (talk) 01:27, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
For the average Wikipedia reader, it's a lot dense to parse. Personally, I'm finding it fascinating, triggering branch searches, but for most readers, it's impenetrable.Wzrd1 (talk) 09:21, 3 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
