The deletion of supposedly copyvio material today was unnecessary. The biographical material based on Launay's website was rewritten and is not a lift of copyright material, and therefore should stay. Whether the quote from Mix magazine is a copyright violation is debatable: WP:NFC allows brief and clearly attributed quotations of copyrighted text, but bans "excessively long" excerpts. The excerpt from Mix is four paragraphs out of a very lengthy interview. In that context, four paragraphs is not excessively long. Grimhim (talk) 05:27, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Almost half of this article is quotations from another source. Short, brief quotations would be acceptable; this amount takes us into WP:COPYVIO range. Essentially the entire final section of the article is direct quote from another source. Some serious rewriting is required here. Risker (talk) 10:43, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've reverted most of User:Launmower's edits of April 10. I'm bothered by the fact that this user has deleted some quotes from the Mix interview and added some badly spelt material that wasn't in that interview. The user also changed the introductory par to say Launay had "made" a list of albums that included albums he had produced or mixed; I think it's more accurate to say he "produced" albums and then list a few acts who he has produced. Mixing credits probably count for a little less.
I have left untouched Launmower's edit that says Launay lives in LA (the earlier edit said Australia); I have no idea where he lives, so someone else who knows the answer may wish to clear this up. Grimhim08:51, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
