The uncanny resemblance of the video for the Notorious single with Steve Winwood's "Higher Love" is not a mere coincidence or a shameless robbery - both videos were directed by Peter Kagan and Paula Grief. It sounds to me like the rhythm guitar in this song is from a James Brown song, "Soul Power" (also an instrumental by the J.B.'s titled "Soul Power '74"), which seems very possible, considering how much his stuff gets sampled.
