Untitled[edit]

Regarding the last two minor edits; I was attempting to fix formatting issues; might be related to my browser (edits displayed differently in IE and Firefox).

Old Town neighborhood?[edit]

"Old Town" is San Diego is used to describe both the state historic park and the surrounding neighborhood, but this article focuses on the State Historic Park. Personally, I'd like to move this article to "Old Town, San Diego, California" and change the focus to the neighborhood while retaining all the Historic Park information as a section within the article. Alternatively, I could just add the neighborhood categories to this article and leave it as is. Any other thoughts? Orayzio 19:37, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There are also factual issues with this article. the synagogue is actually a part of Heritage Park, and is managed by the city. It is not officially in Old Town, the state historic park. May I suggest two entries? 1. Old Town San Diego State Historic Park 2. Old town San Diego (neighborhood) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.8.6.141 (talk) 05:22, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Both of these articles exist (the present article and Old Town, San Diego, California), and someone should disentagle them. Neither Whaley House nor Temple Beth Israel is in the Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, but both are currently mentioned here as if they were. - Jmabel | Talk 00:06, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bazaar Del Mundo "a" major concessionaire[edit]

It seems a minor point, but it is not correct to say that Bazaar Del Mundo was "the" major concessionaire. http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=28022 Here is a list of concessionaires in the state park - out of 43 concessions, 21 are owned by Fiesta de Reyes (formerly Bazaar Del Mundo). Certainly a major concessionaire, but by no means "the" major concessionaire. During her dispute with the state, Diane Powers spread a lot of deliberately misleading information in the local that was popularly interpreted as "Old Town was being closed down" and that the "state park was being sold to an out of state corporation". This severely impacted the other concessionaires; there were talk of boycotts, etc. These effects are still being felt, and the equivocation of "Old Town State Historic Park" with that single concession is part of the problem. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 169.229.122.177 (talk) 19:12, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your input. The cited reference [1] describes the Powers-Delaware North group of establishments as "the largest concession" in the park; does that sound like a fair way to put it? --MelanieN (talk) 01:07, 2 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
