Last time I checked, this article was titled as Osman İslamoğlu, why did the name got changed? Osman is an Arabic name which is popular among Turks(both Anatolian and Central Asian) I never heard of a version of this name as "Ospan". I also read books written by Osman Batur's friends and soldiers(like "Kazak Turks" by Hasan Oraltay, son of Alibek Hakim) They all write his name as Osman, not Ospan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.102.187.215 (talk) 00:20, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

İn Godfrey Lisa's Kazakh Exodus, which is given as a source in this article, this person's name is written as Osman. Baymirza Hayit's history book "“Turkestan Zwischen Russland Und China.” also give his name as Osman. Several other reliable sources also give the same spelling. So why is this article has this "Ospan" mispelling in its title? I tried but could not correct it. Editors of this siteshould attend to this error. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.233.25.207 (talk) 01:47, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Osman is turkicized form of the name Ospan, or if you want Ospan is Kazakh version of this name. In Kazakhstan, Mongolia and China Kazakhs spell his name as Ospan, though Uighurs and Uzbeks spell like Osman, and Chinese spell as Wusiman. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.59.135.237 (talk) 16:49, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

19th or 29th?

[edit]

Osman (Batyr) Batur was captured by government troops in southern Xinjiang Province on February 19, 1951. Osman (Batyr) Batur and some 25 other rebels were executed by the government in Urumqi on April 19, 1951. [1] Geographyinitiative (talk) 03:47, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Word order problem, requires research

[edit]

"Boke Boke Baturin Baturin then be defeated by the Chinese over Tibet after the decapitation of captured while trying to reach Turkey birthplace at the age of 40 were engaged in farming." Elinruby (talk) 08:51, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Resolved by consulting Turkish Wikipedia. This article appears to be a rather close translation of the text there. Elinruby (talk) 06:32, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
