Explicitly indicated that the declaration does not recognize the State of Israel. This is a very important issue that should be stated clearly in the aticle.
Removed weasel words that were used: "generally interpreted", "at least a major step", "implicitly and perhaps ambiguously", "somewhat mentioned".
Uhm, not quite NPOV. Your reduced the article to a statement that the declaration does not recognize the State of Israel. This article is somehow no longer about the declaration itself. You nuked the important information
I will put these details back. However, the "see also" section is redundant. The State of Palestine and Proposals for a Palestinian state articles are the same one, and already referenced in the article itself. According to Wikipedia guidelines you should include in the "see also" section only related issues that were not mentioned already. And the Declaration of independence refers to declarations that actually led to independence, which is not the case here. -- Gabi S. (talk) 10:37, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Granted in the first case. However, for the link Declaration of independence, I disagree. A declaration of independence is a declaration of independence, irrespective of its actual implementation. It's just what the name says: a declaration. Furthermore, Palestinian independence is an ongoing process and the non-existence of the state is not yet definitive. I have just added archive links to one external link on Palestinian Declaration of Independence. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

The host (https://www.palquest.org; the "Interactive Encyclopedia of the Palestine Question") is a respected organisation conceived by the respected scholarly association the "Institute for Palestine Studies" as part of a joint project with the "Palestinian Museum" (that is to say the partners of the "Interactive Encyclopedia of the Palestine Question" are "Institute for Palestine Studies" and the "Palestinian Museum")
Thanks for the attempt at rectifying this. The versions are actually different. Anyway, I've just found what seems to be a better source, sorry I didn't find this earlier: For these sorts of important and sensitive issues of translated documents I think it's important to have the offical version (that is, the version transmitted to the UN) available (perhaps in addition to the existing version from the highly respected scholar Edward Said). The official version is different from the existing Edward Said version. The official version is in two parts: https://www.un.org/unispal/document/auto-insert-178680/ and the list of minor corrections: https://www.un.org/unispal/document/auto-insert-188061/https://www.un.org/unispal/document/auto-insert-188061/
