Sinti-Manouche

[edit]

I removed "Sinti-Manouche" from the list of Germanic-based mixed languages. Sinti is actually a Romani dialect proper (although part of its lexicon is made of loanwords from western European languages such as German, French or Italian). 85.18.119.242 (talk) 10:02, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think you misunderstood the name or nature of SM. You're right, Sinti itself is a Romani variant but SM isn't the same as Sinti. Akerbeltz (talk) 10:41, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, but Sinti-Manouche language redirects to Sinte Romani and we have no other article ... confusing. --Florian Blaschke (talk) 01:49, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
See also Talk:Sinte Romani. The IP user above seems to have a point. --Florian Blaschke (talk) 01:51, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Part of the problem lies with Kwami having unilaterally moved the page from Sinti-Manouche to Sinte Romani and I'm minded to move it back. However, I've done a bit of digging. It's described heavily germanised (p 95) here but more crucially this article (unfortunately in Czech) has examples (p 6). Looking at those and beyond the ghastly spelling it doesn't look like Para Romani to me either, to be honest. But sources are slim, I think we should dig a little more but certainly move the page back to begin with. Akerbeltz (talk) 09:35, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mixed languages?

[edit]

There is a request for references at mixed language for including Erromintxela. That might affect all of these languages, so comments/sources would be appreciated. — kwami (talk) 04:17, 13 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
