There is a discrepancy between the disambiguation page Gemayel and this article as to who his father was. The disambiguation page says his father was Pierre, while the article says it was Amine. If his father was Amin(e) then the article name of Pierre Gemayel (Son) is inappropriate. 194.72.35.70 15:15, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Based on AFP's report that Pierre Gemayel was 34 when he died, that places his date of birth at 1972. So the choice is Pierre Gemayel (junior)orPierre Gemayel (1972-2006) or some variant thereon. Fys. “Ta fys aym”. 15:36, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This sentence is unclear: "taking advantage that the opposing list, an alliance between Michel Aoun and Michel Murr had a vacant seat". Possibly needs a comma after 'Murr'. But how can an alliance have a vacant seat? Could the author please clarify? - Earthlyreason

Assasination day?:

I read in the lebanese blog (http://www.lebop.blogspot.com/) in the comment section of the article, an anti syrian statement, saying on this date more people have been assasinated. Last year a dutch writer/journalist has been assasinated on the day he published a book 10 year before. I think also a few years ago a person was killed in libanon on the same day.So perhaps its worth mentioning, also it apparently happened on the same place, as another attack. Note as a method of intimidation (or also obscuring the perpetrators by identifying them with ones implied before?). One question that arises, is isn't it so that people would need to be rather in control of the place to plan so thoroughly? I'll follow up if i find more precise info. Could you give me a source where Gemayel is referenced as "Pierre Ishmael Gemayel"? Google gives 0 Hits. I'll delete it unless someone proves that Ishmael is part of his name. I removed "qualifying it as "an act of terrorism at a particularly bad time." here. Two main reasons. Firstly, the source doesn't include that quote. Secondly, it was rather confusing. Unless Blair and the White House issued a joint statement or they both happened to come up with the exact same words, then it only applies to one of them but way it was written would suggest it's something they both said. Which one actually said it (if any) I have no idea, since it was unsourced, I can't find out. Nil Einne 09:04, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Where was he interred?

Let's get this straight: Ya Libnan reports that Al Sessayah reports that a libanese newspaper was called by a SANA editor investigating about the assasination before it happened. This sourcing isn't much better than pure rumour, total hearsay. Where is the original article in Al Sessayah? Why isn't there an article by the Lebanese newspaper? Why didn't other media pick this up? So far, we don't know which employee at what Lebanese newspaper leaked this to Al Seyassah, if the caller has been positively IDed as a SANA editor, and if the whole story isn't just an accident triggered by different time zones. The Ya Libnan source serves as a translation for readers who cannot consume the Arabic version. The difference between Ya Libnan and other Lebanese news sources is that YL is independent while the majority are operated by politicians. Furthermore, Lebanese editors regularly receive phone calls and open threats regarding the content they publish vis a vis the Syrian regime, it would not surprise me if there was a concerted effort to supress this story. In conclusion, at least the information included from Ya Libnan has a source, while the stereotypical response to instantly blame the Mossad has no source.
