re: split proposal

[edit]

Considering it's been over a year and there has been no discussion whatsoever, I will be removing the split tag. While I think technically this might warrant an article over the psychological/sociological aspects of reward and punishment, this article is primarily about the penal aspect of punishment and there's actually relatively little in this article about that to split off. Punishment (psychology) would be a better article to split off from, and even then I think this is probably covered by other articles. PARAKANYAA (talk) 09:19, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Octopuses

[edit]

Regarding the subsection entitled Examples against sociobiological use in this article: The references do not support the assertions made about the octopuses that are discussed. Hence, I have removed the paragraph regarding the octopuses (here). I also briefly checked the Wikipedia article entitled "Octopus vulgaris" and could find nothing there. When reliable sources are available feel free to restore the removed content.

I also moved the two references that were not on point to the end of this subsection. Personally, I don't remove sources from an article. I just move them, as I did in this instance. Additionally, one of the moved sources cites a one hour long documentary. Without the minutes that cover the assertions made this source is not helpful. -Lastly, I am thinking that the paragraph following this removed one may not be supported by the sources in this section. ---Steve Quinn (talk) 19:09, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
