BR attacks[edit]

Perhaps useful Mallerd (talk) 12:21, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

The article at Politico-Military Communist Party appears to be a logical extension of this one, with no reason to have a life of its own. GeorgeLouis (talk) 04:35, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The information is already included within this article at Red_Brigades#Recent_developments. GeorgeLouis (talk) 04:40, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose. It's not the one and the same organization.19:55, 17 July 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.94.17.135 (talk)
Also opposed. They are two separate groups with two separate ideals.23:30, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Gladio/Aldo Moro[edit]

While the Gladio and Aldo Moro pages both discuss potential NATO and Gladio involvement in the BR's murder of Moro, this page makes no mention of the significant controversy which still surrounds Moro's death. Particularly noticeable is the absence of journalist Carmine Pecorelli's comments linking Moro's death and his murder soon after.

I would not say this page has anti-left bias so much as it reproduces an uncritical narrative dictated by anti-Soviet interests. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.19.76.78 (talk) 02:29, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed.[edit]

The silence on Gladio is deafening. One should watch the three BBC hour-long TimeWatch programs Gladio: The Ringmasters, Gladio: The Puppeteers, and Gladio: The Footsoldiers.

These things are all in the public record. Pretending not to notice won't pass muster. This appears to be a refusal to say goodbye to the halcyon days of the Cold War, when "we were always right" and the CIA/MI6 could not be called to account. ProudPrimate (talk) 17:56, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Marxist/Leninist affiliation[edit]

Red Brigades has nothing to do with open mass struggle of the working class as proposed by Marx and Lenin. It is not so a "Marxist-Leninist vanguard paramilitary organization" rather a "vanguard paramilitary organization", based in Italy. Marx and especially Lenin critisized hidden organizations action with the word "terrorist attacks". Revolution meaning contains de facto the mass struggle. So when a term like Marxist-Leninist is used by historian should be based on historical facts and not neccessery with the particular organisation statements. We should also consider the later news about the involvment of CIA in the kidnapping of Moro (statements of Enrico Rossi, head of the antiterrorism force the days Moro was kidnapped). Furthermore, the text has a sentence "sought to create a "revolutionary" state", this clearly indicates that THEY had this vision - despite I disagree that it was possible - it can be written by a historian. That is why the communist portal link was removed as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vagr7 (talkcontribs) 15:30, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Red Brigades. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. The role played by deviated section of the Secret Services[edit]

I think that it should be metioned the allegations made by several journalists, investigators and even Franceschini himself that the BR may have been highjacked by the Secret Services through Moretti and used them to persue their interests. Indeed, it seems that the Americans were very much against the "compromesso storico" and they thought of using the BR to get rid of Aldo Moro. It is, in fact, a strange coincidence that all the original establishment of the BR was arrested just before the kidnapping of Moro and the only one left was, precisely, Moretti. Another interesting fact is that Moretti was the only one aware of this plan (Moro's kidnapping). None of those who were arrest knew anything about it. Just read the book written by Franceschini and you'll find what I'm here saying.

The history of the BR is entangled to the role played by the deviated sectors of the Secret Services in those year and their cooperation with several criminal organizations like the P2 (Look for Licio Gelli, what he did, the roled he played etc.) and Cosa Nostra.

Shots[edit]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Brigades#Kidnapping_and_murder_of_Aldo_Moro says that he was shot 11 times, but this page seems 10. I appreciate that this is a very minor detail, but the inconsistency bothers me. STeamTraen (talk) 18:14, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ideologies[edit]

I would remove “Stalinism” from the “Ideology” field, they were Marxist-Leninist and the Stalinism isn’t an ideology. On the Italian Wikipedia, we have chosen to not use the term Stalinism to indicate the ideology of the organization. Redjedi23 (talk) 01:46, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
