Authenticity check: A search reveals that the phrase "regarded by many" appears in the text. Is the phrase a symptom of a dubious statement? Could a source be quoted instead? Perhaps the "many" could be identified? Might text be edited to more genuinely reflect specific facts?

What does this sentence mean: "Parish actually teamed with Larry Bird from 1980-1992, and Kevin McHale from 1980-1993, before each retired." Maybe it is the phrasing, but I don't understand the purpose of providing this information. Perhaps it is the use of the word "actually".
Is that true? I'm a casual Celtics fan and have never heard of it. The results on google are far from overwhelming. I'm not saying it is false, but I think it should be re-worded. I'd hardly say "all his accomplishments are dampened because of this" or whatever.
