Fair use rationale for Image:Isleys-1960s-era.jpg

[edit]

Image:Isleys-1960s-era.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Ron Isley - CIncinatti - New Jersey

[edit]

How can Ron Isley be born in Cincinatti, but his hometown is New Jersey as mentioned in the article? Did he grow up there, when did his family move there? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.31.249.151 (talk) 17:12, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Spanning 6 decades

[edit]

Mr. Isley has had at least a hit in the last six decades beginning with "Shout" in 1959, "Twist And Shout" in 1962, "Who's That Lady" in 1973, "Don't Say Goodnight" in 1980, "This Old Heart Of Mine" in 1990 (featured with Rod Stewart) and of course, "Contagious" in 2001. (he had many more - but these are examples per decade) 00:17, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Discography section

[edit]

now that hes released an album outside the Isleys there should be a section for his discography. also articles for Mr. I n No More should be created IMO — Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.56.168.100 (talk) 15:23, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

May 21 birthdate restored

[edit]

Two sources list May 21 (IMDB and http://www.allmusic.com/artist/ronald-isley-mn0000298364/biography) and evidently this article did also (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_21#Births) until at some point it was changed with no citation. If it is going to contradict these sources, then * the May 21#Birth must also be changed. * If the source was the AOL music page, it became a dead link. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dfoofnik (talkcontribs) 03:13, 3 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Shhhnotsoloud: Mr. Biggs (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) is currently at WP:RfD for discussion. Is removing the hatnote while it is under discussion really a desirable thing to do? If it survives RfD, then the hatnote will be missing. While it is at RfD, people can click through the discussion nominated page, and end up ehre without a hatnote to tell them about other topics. Shouldn't the hatnote be left in place until after an outcome is decided at RfD? This comment applies to all hatnotes removed for redirects under discussion at RfD, since the RfD template breaks the redirection with an RfD banner. -- 65.92.246.142 (talk) 03:44, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The RfD closer should ensure the necessary hatnotes are applied. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 08:50, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The nominated redirect is functionally a soft-redirect, since it still only leads to the target article, so would seem to dead end without the hatnote indicating other topics -- 65.92.246.142 (talk) 13:21, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
