Hmm...there seems to be two different versions of this on the same page? I'm not really qualified to decide which to use, but I think the second may be better. Help! Balletgirl313 16:50, Jun 4, 2005 (UTC)
What's the other page? Also, this article seems pretty well wikified, should we remove the stub? (I'm still pretty new at this.) --AntiEntropy 19:05, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)
It seems like this article is actually about the India Institute of Technology, not about the town of Roorkee. Most of it should be moved to an article with that title. Everyguy13:22, 30 July 2005 (UTC)
.
Personal references should be removed. This is an article about a town and maybe a place of study Why are people named ?[reply]
Found new unedited info at the end of Education subsection. Did some copy editing and made it the last new subsection that still needs review for info-accuracy and some cleanup. A local User may help please. Wiki dr mahmad (talk) 20:25, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The article contains endless lists of schools and colleges. Such kind of lists are unwanted on Wikipedia. The information should better be provided in the form of prose. I am unable to do this. As a first step, I want to propose to reduce the institutions mentioned to those for which a link can be provided. If the institution has neither an article on Wikipedia nor its own website, it should also not have a place in this list. No need to mention every little school at every corner. Along with some other copy edits, I made culled down the name-dropping list of colleges and schools. Still, the section is not more than a list of names of institutions, which is discouraged by Wikipedia. If you want to improve the article, try to add information and transform the lists into prose with notable, verifyable content about these institutions. If you want to extend the list by an institution you consider notable, make sure that you provide a reference for this and wiki-link it if possible. TomeasyTC13:32, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Once again, I cleaned up thoroughly the list of educational institutions. There seems to be desire here to list all of them, or perhaps at least those which people have personally. The bar for inclusion hangs very low: a functioning website or a Wikipedia article about it. It shows that these criteria limit the size of the list to an acceptable length. The optimum length would certainly be even shorter. TomeasyTC12:43, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
