On 19 August 2015, Roy Jones met with Vladimir PutininSevastopol, Autonomous Republic of Crimea to ask for a dual Russian-American citizenship. He explained that he often visits Russia for business activity, and a passport would avoid inconvenient rides.[1] He was then placed on the Ukrainian black list of “traitors”, “separatists” and “terrorists”. Ukrainian MP and Interior Minister’s top adviser Anton Gerashchenko also said he wants to open a “criminal case” against the athlete-turned-rapper and actor under Article 332-1 for illegally entering the “territory of Ukraine”.[2]

why is there an excuse for every big fight that Roy Jones won? He did not weigh 180 at middle weight when he beat Hopkins. he destroyed James Tony regardless of weight excuses. he timed Calzaghe perfectly for the knockdown, it was not an "accidental forearm". 4jpc87 (talk) 21:08, 1 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The last sentence of the first paragraph says 'meal' instead of Medal, when discussing his silver medal at the olympics. 94.30.1.206 (talk) 16:59, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summary explained it was a tighten up. The lede is much too detailed and wordily repetitive, doubtless as the result of a series of driveby edits. The lede should be a summary of the main points contained in main body of the article where the whole thing is gone into and where the refs are put. Lede should be a précis not specific, which is why it is not supposed to have refs. I think Jones is a professional boxer by definition if he is being paid to box, exhibition or not. The begining of the main article is cluttered with extreme detail of amateur results in a laundry list, which is something I have never seen on a pro boxer's Wiki article. Its back to front to do that, such a list should be at the end and probably only the Olympic and pro career details are appropriate. I also added something topically relevant about Jones Tyson which will encourage reading of the main article, if anyone has the stamina to get through it as it is, which I doubt. But you curate it in its current state so that people coming here because he is in the news will quickly hit the back button and go elsewhere for readable info on Jones if you wish.Overagainst (talk) 21:30, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
