Rifle Grenades?

[edit]

The part about rifle grenades in the SEALAB II section makes absolutely no sense at all to an outside reader. It either needs a lot of context (or at least a source) or consideration for removal if it isn't really important to the facility. --153.31.113.20 (talk) 18:33, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Seconded. It sounds like it was added by someone who actually worked on SEALAB II, using his own personal knowledge as a source, which is unacceptable on Wikipedia. One sentence is in the first person plural ("we did not have time for that"). Gildir (talk) 14:09, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

deleted entry about a dolphin supplying SEALAB

[edit]

I deleted an entry about tuffy the dolphin supplying the SEALAB base. It was "sourced" to a broken link. This looks like vandalism to me, however if someone can provide verification for this incredulous claim, then please revert Gakrivas (talk) 13:40, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have reinserted a slightly expanded passage about Tuffy, with references. Only the Hellwarth book indicates that Tuffy had mixed success during SEALAB II. Gildir (talk) 21:03, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Number built

[edit]

The article currently says "SEALAB III used a refurbished SEALAB II habitat". Now I would expect that to read the refurbished SEALAB II habitat, unless more were built but not deployed. What's up with that? --BjKa (talk) 10:33, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

SEALAB II abandoned?

[edit]

If I understand the article correctly, SEALABs I and III were recovered, but II was left on the sea floor. Is this right? And if so, why was II not recovered? (The indicated reference - at http://hpwren.ucsd.edu/news/020213.html - says, quote, "the habitat was pulled up".) Elsquared (talk) 23:15, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

SEALAB II moved?

[edit]

The end of the SEALAB II section states

This expedition was the first return to the site since the habitat was moved.[1]

But I don’t see any mention prior to this of the habitat having been “moved.” The provided reference doesn’t clarify this. Can a more knowledgeable editor add some context? Zeligf (talk) 13:25, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The SEALAB III section also states that the SEALAB II habitat was refurbished for use as SEALAB III, then ultimately retrieved and scrapped. Which obviously is inconsistent with the above. Zeligf (talk) 13:30, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
