My initial definition of Scientology SP as a "condemned and shunned heretic or wrongdoer" is perfectly factual. They are condemned with a formal notice (an "SP Declare" - on special colour paper) and thereafter all members of the Scientology community (including, in many/most cases, their own children) are forbidden to have contact with them. The offenses for which one can be declared an SP include deviation from formal CoS doctrine (the Scientology jargon for this is called "being a squirrel"), or normal criminal activity (theft, fraud, etc). I think "heretic" is the normal English word which best captures the meaning of "squirrel", so I'm putting it back the way it was. Noel 15:11, 22 Oct 2003 (UTC)
Well, the CoS propaganda I've seen seems to suggest that SPs are sources of trouble - they won't really admit that these people are heretics or wrongdoers - when in fact, as you say, that's what they are. So the CoS POV should be added? Dysprosia 22:32, 22 Oct 2003 (UTC)
The term is also used by the CoS to describe outsiders who are actively antagonistic to Scientology, so the term has two meanings. Noel(talk) 14:41, 6 Dec 2004 (UTC)
I have a question, what the hell is South Park doing in geography?!? you're not colorblind, it's colored this way. Or maybe you are. Misteryoshi01:08, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This is just a random collection of things that happen to have the initials SP. How many of them are actually referred to by those initials? 2.27.101.222 (talk) 16:39, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The band is frequently referenced by the initialism SP, the band's primary iconography centers around a stylized SP, and fan tattoos use this iconography of SP to refer to the band. For visual evidence see a google image search. Restoring edit. --Mandra Oleka (talk) 10:45, 18 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Given a second revert with the reason given "no indication in linked article of being known by these initials" I would note that within the same section ("In arts and entertainment") all entries that are not simply some variation of SP alone fail this test as well. South Park does not mention within itself that the show is known as SP, nor does the article for The Smashing Pumpkins. A cursory check of other popular entertainment properties shows this test for disambiguation entries to also fail for the first five I checked: OD - One Direction, WTC - Wu-Tang Clan, BB - Breaking Bad, GGD - Goo Goo Dolls, ATHF - Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Suggestive of a common practice. Nevertheless, following the suggestions in Wikipedia:Disambiguation I have added material to the Skinny Puppy article regarding the iconography/logo. --Mandra Oleka (talk) 22:11, 18 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
