The image Image:NES Mega Man.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

I'm going to dump all these links here - they were listed in the original article.

Split into two articles

[edit]

I suggest we split portions of this article into a new article titled Score (sport). I think we should differentiate between scoring in sport and scoring in games. Moreover, this article seems to be dominated by video games, to the exclusion of board games, role-playing games, strategy games (eg - backgammon), and others. The coverage of sport-related scoring is skimpy, but a separate article could help improve the situation. I'd be willing to perform the split (moving the "Sport" section out of this one) and expand the new article somewhat. Mindmatrix 01:22, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved portions of this article to Score (sport). Mindmatrix 13:43, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! I'm new to wiki but I was wondering if you could explain a bit more about why this article was split. It seems wrong to me that there are two separate articles for the same concept... especially when some "games"(ie chess) are also considered to be sports and vice versa... and the use of a scoring system doesn't really differentiate sports from games. I guess I just don't understand why that distinction is useful here. Thanks for any clarification you can provide:) OilyDoily (talk) 19:19, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"Football" -> "Association football"

[edit]

I've changed a reference to "football" to link to "association football" instead. The reason is the article for football describes all games named football in general, as well as their common points, whereas the "football" the original editor was referring to was most likely association football (or soccer as it's known in the US). 50.46.192.36 (talk) 02:54, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 2 external links on Score (game). Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

article focuses on high score

[edit]

Since moving some content to Score (sports), the remainder of this article seems to focus just on high scores in video games. I suggest either adding content related to board games and other games, renaming to score (video games) and adding more info about scores in general in games, or renaming to High Score Edetone (talk) 20:52, 25 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
