Not at this time, the original site is still online, a fossil apparently last touched in 2006. So that's about when they wrapped it up I guess. If as the article states the project was already funded, how could it be canceled and why? They probably did a bit of basic research, established ties, got some publicity for a good cause and that's it. Later initiatives could hopefully build upon or somehow make use of at least some of the insights and approaches, but this is how things begin.
