This page could use more information. Specifically:

• Proper results for 1992
• More info on rules, classes, and qualifying requirements over the years. Peter Marsh says that qualifying was introduced in '72, but Peter Nicholls in A Voyage for Madmen makes it pretty clear that 1968 had a 500-mile qualifier too

are you talking about this story? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-48348987 I came here this morning when details in the press were vague but nothing here about it yet. You should know about this and comment. One of our editors has systematically depopulated it (perhaps from this article among many others), and thinks that is a good reason to delete it. 14:00, 1 May 2015 (UTC)

For historical reasons OSTAR & TRANSAT share the same article but as far as I know they haven't always been run in the same years, are run by separate bodies & (as far as I can see on the interwebs) while both will run in 2020 the Transat has moved to Brest, so the lede now looks to me ambiguous & misleading (with possibly a rather out of touch source used for a recent update). More work is needed, searching Wikipedia for Transat brings up

But then here in the intro < it is run from Plymouth to the United States, and is held every four years. The race is organised by the Royal Western Yacht Club > So for Transat Plymouth is wrong & I think RWYC may also be wrong whereas for OSTAR I don't think "every four years" is quite right any longer... Since this is an international encyclopaedia and there's more than one Plymouth in the world is it correct here to write < it is run from Plymouth to the United States > ? Since it's an event that is not wholly contained within the UK would it be better to write "Plymouth, UK" or "Plymouth, Devon UK"? Or would any of that be superfluous because it's deemed adequate that a link is provided to the relevant city? 86.155.27.168 (talk) 17:46, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
