ReviewbyAlphabeticalization (talk·contribs): This is my first GA review, so I'm going to provide comment, but I will probably ask for a second reviewer as well, in the hopes of validating my assessment. I really enjoy the facts you've pulled for the History section; they tell a good story. The prose is well-written and all-but error free, save a handful of awkward wordings. My only major revisions are regarding the Culture section, Demographics, and Images. See below.
Lead, third paragraph: I'm sure you're avoiding NPOV problems, but the wording is awkward. Perhaps we can find a source that allows us to reference a "strong" Korean American/Hispanic American community or something to explain the noteworthiness of these communities, especially to people not immediately familiar with Houston and Texas' greater demographics. As is, the link cited there from Houston Press is dead.
History: paragraph 1... was the community originally called Spring Branch? It's not explicitly stated. Maybe it can't be...
History: "Memorial villages" is unexplained... how to do without making cumbersome prose? Is there a wikilink to be made?
History: "... much of it was from immigration from..." awkward wording
History: paragraph 4; "...zoning to the [SBISD]". I'm actually not sure. Taking the "the" out sounds right out loud to me.
History: paragraph 4: "...street signs in Koreatown lead to..." should be "led"
Economy: is there any census data for average income available?
Local Government: I would think city government would come first, followed by Police districts last. Maybe a style choice, but I would go big to small.
Local Government: paragraph 3 sentence 1, typo: "three the"
Demographics: As is, the prose is pretty stale. Perhaps consolidating this data into a single "Spring Branch total" set of data would be more meaningful, then making note of outlier data of Spring Shadows' significantly smaller Hispanic population
Culture: This section feels thin... there might be a way to cite some other events that regularly happen in the community?
Parks and Recreation: paragraph 1 sentence one add "...in Spring Branch." to the end?
Imgaes: pictures are good... is a map a possibility that could show the different Super Neighborhood delineations?
Again, as this is my first GA review, I'm certainly aware that my comments might not be 100% on point. Definitely looking to engage in some conversation about how to best serve this article. As for now, article is On Hold. Alphabeticalization (talk) 04:03, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, has there been any updates to this article? It looks like a review was made, but there has been no discussion on improving the article. If these points have not been addressed yet by now, it should probably be failed. This article is currently the tenth longest-held article at WP:GAN. The reviewer hasn't edited since the third of february. I'll give both sides until saturday, if nothing's done I'll fail it myself for lack of activity. Wizardman06:23, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry! I forgot that this community was nominated in the first place.
Most of the points are accurate, so I am editing to put them in compliance.
Anyway, about "Local Government: I would think city government would come first, followed by Police districts last. Maybe a style choice, but I would go big to small." - The police *is* a part of the city government. Please clarify this. WhisperToMe (talk) 02:25, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The "Super neighborhoods" demographics table is too wide and is breaking the page width for me (fairly standard browser width). If I have time I'll try and redo it. I think it may be possible to transpose it without a problem. 0x0077BE [talk/contrib] 18:07, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
