I'm a little uncertain about how to add information to this article. Most of the information available to me only concerns the LDS variety of a stake. I'd like to add more but can't decide whether to add info as a subdivision of the LDS section or whether to include it in the general topic. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? andersonpd18:37, 27 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I hope that it is okay that I put your comment back. You make a good point about it being "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints"-centric. I'll reorganize the article appropriately, leaving the information already there. Thanks for bringing up this problem. Val42 22:03, August 27, 2005 (UTC)
There is a line here, "All stake leaders are lay members who serve without remuneration." I am unclear on the meaning of the term "lay member". It is not a term used in the LDS church; however, if it means 'unordained', it would be incorrect -- all stake leaders must be ordained except for those in the Relief Society, Primary, and Young Women's program (from memory, apologies if I missed one). The link to laity in unhelpful to me, based as it is on holy orders, which our church does not have. CsikosLo (talk) 18:39, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It was probably meant to imply "non-full-time" and/or "non-professionally-trained" clergy, I would think—just to indicate that not only are they serving without remuneration, they are also just "regular" members and don't attend a training school or anything like that in order to qualify for a position.
