Rowssusan - It is not an unimportant/trivial content that he played ball with POTUS. It seems he likely wouldn't have his job without friends in high places. More than one of the references listed seem to find it important. Roseohioresident (talk) 07:31, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"He also occasionally played pickup basketball with Barack Obama at Hemingway Gymnasium" is trivial and therefore non-encylopedic. There are a countless number of trivial facts in reliable sources that do not qualify for inclusion in an encylopedia. Perhaps you are the one who thought "was a good shot blocker when he played basketball" was also encylopedic? Are you related to Mr. Dettelbach either personally or professionally? Rowssusan If you check the edit history, you'll see I did not add the blurb about shot blocking. I am not related to him, nor am I an ambulance chaser. This isn't a novel, newspaper or magazine. It's an encylopedia. The standard for inclusion of content in an enyclopedia is much higher. Therefore, to a large degree, you're correct; many articles will indeed be quite boring. After all, an encylopedia is not meant to entertain, but rather to inform. For the record, the removed content was taken from a posting on a job-search website, which of course is not a reliable source. Rowssusan (talk) 16:51, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

His resignation is precisely where it belongs, at the end of the Career section, which lists content in chronological order. As I've explained mutliple times, his current status as U.S. Attorney is reflected correctly in the lead and can be updated when he leaves office next week. Relax, there is no rush. regarding triviality, I hope you never look at Main Page which includes a section called "did you know?" Please take your heart medication before looking there. I'm glad there was no wikipedia in March 1981, or you may have insisted that the sentence "Reagan took a bullet to the torso in 1981" go at the end of Ronald Reagan. cheers Roseohioresident (talk) 20:17, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The purpose of "Did you know..." is to help promote articles through interesting, encylopedic facts that are reliably sourced. Please educate yourself on the difference between trivial and noteworthy content, and what constitutes a reliable source. I assure you that a job-search website cannot be used as a reliable source. In any case, your ongoing rants are not helpful to this project. When someone has a content disagreement with you, don't take it so personally.
